The Apartment

A two bedroom well appointed holiday retreat in the quiet village of Alporchinos, approximately a thirty minute drive along the coast from Faro airport.

The grounds in which it stands are extensive and pretty, and typically Portuguese, with hedges to all sides. Directly outside the sliding doors is a tiled patio and the grounds with two small trees which offer a welcome dappled shade. There is a large outdoor pool, exclusively for Quinta da Alegria residents, and a small toddler pool.

The pool is only heated by the suns rays, which is very bracing at times, but soon warms up , and is a lovely way to cool down in the hot summer months. The toddler pool is just under knee deep on an adult . There are reclining sun beds around the pool, but should they all be in use you are welcome to take some from the apartment. Please just bring them back with you at the end of the day.

The apartment comprises the following:

A small Portuguese style kitchen with fridge freezer and washing machine, microwave, oven, hob, iron and ironing board.

Living area with sofa and two chairs, flat screen t.v and DVD player, 6 seat dining table.

Wetroom style bathroom.

Bedroom 1 – double bed, chest of drawers, large wardrobe, hairdryer.
Bedroom 2 – 2 single beds, chest of drawers, large wardrobe.

There are two portable fans and in the double bedroom there is a ceiling fan. We have a huge selection of reading matter and several board games and sets of playing cards.

We ask that you kindly clean the apartment ( to include sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning the sink/toilet/ shower screen, changing the bedding and towels, and if you have time, washing and drying your towels and bedding) before your departure and leave it as you would hope to find it!

However, we hope that from late summer 2012 we will be able to offer a cleaning and laundry service, whereby for a fee you can dispense with the chores and enjoy your holiday right up to the last minute!

The gardener and handy man is called Antonio. He is the man to go to for the gas bottles that heat the water in the apartment. We recommend you keep one full spare bottle of gas for when your gas runs out. Essential as Antonio doesn’t work at weekends !
